Application
A master’s degree holder who has excelled in the entrance examination can be accepted by Guanghua’s four- year program. A bachelor’s degree holder who has excelled in the entrance examination can be accepted by Guanghua’s five-year program. Only students who have excelled in the entrance examination are eligible for the second round exam. The second round examination may be an interview, a written test, or a combination of the two. The students who excel in both the entrance examination and the second round exam can be accepted by Guanghua’s Ph.D. program. A master’s degree holder who is qualified for exemption

Entry requirements:
A bachelor’s or higher degree (a junior college degree is acceptable for candidates with outstanding achievements in their field);
No less than 8 years' working experience (at least 5 years at mid-level or senior management);
Age 30-48;
Mid-level or senior executives of state-owned enterprises or foreign companies or senior executives of private corporations.

Master Program
Starting from the 2007 academic year, prospective candidates who have successfully passed the preliminary examination by the Japanese Embassy/Consulate are required to obtain a letter of acceptance from their potential supervisors (please see more details here)
The Graduate School of Economics, Kyoto University, offers a 2-year master program, leading to the degree MA in Economics. Teaching and supervision are conducted in Japanese. Only a limited number of courses are taught in English.
Within the master program, there are two subprograms as follows:
(1) Economics subprogram (in Japanese, “Hakase course”)

The basic goals of the MPA program are to provide students professional education in public ../administration and to prepare them for public service careers at the territorial, regional, federal, and international levels. The program also offers opportunities for government employees to enhance and improve skills, and to learn new concepts
To qualify for a Master Degree, students must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 54 credit hours. All students must do the following:
Foundation courses (9 credits)
Core and elective courses (33 credits)
Thereafter, there are two ways to fulfill the required 54 credit hours of course work. Students may choose between:
Doing additional courses and a final Comprehensive Examination; or
Preparing a research proposal, doing the proposed research and writing thesis
