Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Hong Kong ECON0207 Monetary economics Semester : 1 For Student of Year : 2 & 3 This course discusses the role of money in the economy, including how money affects inflation, interest rates and output and employment in both the static and dynamic contexts. Related topics are theories of money demand and supply, the conduct of monetary policy, rules vs. discretion, adaptive and rational expectations, time inconsistency, origin of money, and electronic means of payments.
