This speciality is intended to cultivate the advanced and specialized personnel who are proficient in English listening, speaking , reading, writing and translating and who is acquainted with the special knowledge of tourism management and the special skills of international guiding. Besides, students graduating from this program have a good understanding of international general practices of tourism industry and China’s tourism policies and regulations. They will be able to assume jobs like tourism management, international guiding, translation, etc.
The major courses include: courses in foreign languages: English Intensive reading, Oral English, Listening, English- Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation, Advanced English Listening and Speaking, Specialized English for Tourism; Management: Management, Managing Information System, Economics, Accounting, Managing Finance; courses in tourism: Tourism Concepts, Tourism Economics, the Basic Knowledge of Tourism, Guiding Business and Techniques, Tourism Hotel Management, Managing Travel Agencies, Tourist Policies and Regulations, Tourism Marketing, Tourism Psychology.
