AO(AdmissionsOffice) Entrance Exam

There is no need to study exam techniques for AO Entrance Exam. Just show us what you have done, thought and learned during your high school years.
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Hokkaido University offers information on “educational content” and “desirable student qualities.” Please have your goal clarified and a clear understanding of campus life before applying.
Applicant screening does not include a written examination. In the 1st Screening, the motivation, aptitude, and scholastic ability of the applicant are evaluated based on a letter of self-recommendation, an individual evaluation, a school report, and activity records.
In the 2nd Screening, the applicant’s level of ability and personality are evaluated through an essay and an interview.
We seek the following qualities in our students:
(type 1) the ability to think, comprehend, and express oneself, and possession of the basic academic ability necessary to learn at our faculty.
(type 2) the ability to take up themes in learning and life; past achievements in physical and cultural activities.
(type 3) the ability to be a leader in the student-body, previous extracurricular and volunteer activities.
(type 4) the ability to think in a multifaceted manner, regardless of whether a liberal-arts or science-oriented curriculum was taken in high school.
General Entrance Exam

1st term schedule: number of admissions : 160
Applicants who have taken 6 subjects in the University Testing Center Exam, a standardized preliminary exam for university admission, are required to take the following exams for assessment of basic scholastic proficiency: Japanese, Math and Foreign Language.
2nd term schedule: number of admissions : 20
Applicants who have taken 6 subjects in the University Testing Center Exam, are required to write a short essay to assess their knowledge of the liberal arts and social sciences and their ability to comprehend academic papers, to use logical thinking when studying economics and business administration, and to write academically.

Type Of Applicants at Business School IUJ

Type Of Applicants
IUJ receives applications from two groups: Domestic Applicants (residents of Japan, regardless of nationality) and International Applicants (residents of countries other than Japan, regardless of nationality). Admissions guidelines are slightly different for domestic and international applicants.

Decision Cycles
Applications still incomplete by the closing date of each cycle will be considered in the next cycle if they are subsequently completed. Applications which are incomplete as of the final application deadline for each applicants’ group will not be evaluated.

Domestic Applicants (residents of Japan):
We base application decisions on an evaluation of the application documents and an entrance exam (interview and written tests).
There are four separate intakes for 2009 admissions. Entrance examinations will be held at:

Entrance examination:

(1) Interview test

An interview is performed in English. However, when required, it may be carried out in Japanese. About the time of the interview, an applicant is notified and sent an examination ID card.

(2) Institutional TOEFL (paper-based test)

The institutional TOEFL is an English language proficiency test administered by qualified academic institutions, including IUJ, and other agencies for their own internal use. Although the test content is the same as in the paper-based TOEFL, official score reports are not issued to the examinee. Please refer to �gTOEFL/IELTS�h for exemption rules for the Institutional TOEFL.

(3) English Essay (1 topic)

Applicants will be informed of details relevant to the entrance examination after submission of the application documents.

International Applicants (residents of countries other than Japan):
We base application decisions on an evaluation of the application documents submitted.
There are two separate intakes for 2009 admissions.

Admission Detail Part Time MBA at School of Business and Management (HKUST)

We invite applications from October onwards for our annual intake which starts in the following August. The capacity for a typical Shenzhen part-time MBA intake is 60.

Making an Application
Application can be completed through our online application form. Simply register as a user and you could take as much time as you need to complete the application before the deadline.

Your application should include:1.

2. Two reference forms or equivalent reference letters: one from your supervisor, the other from a professor of your UG university

We accept xerox or fax copies of (3) to (7) at the application stage.

Application Fee
The application fee is HK$500 (US$ 64) and can be paid by:1. Credit card as indicated on the online application form; or
2. Cash deposit to HKUST Hang Seng Bank account number 024 262 324999 014; or
3. Bank draft made payable to “The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology”

Interview
We conduct personal interviews with short-listed applicants. Motivation, interpersonal and communication skills, career plans and maturity will be assessed during the interview.

Admissions Decision
Evaluation is based on the information provided in the application and interview performance. Admission decisions are not formula-driven but depend on an applicant’s overall profile. Successful applicants will receive an admissions offer within one month of the interview.

Accepting an Offer
Successful candidates are required to return a signed acceptance together with a non-refundable deposit of HKD 20,000 before the stated deadline.

Procedure

In order to apply for admission to the IEMBA program, the following documents should be submitted to the “HKUST IEMBA Program Coordination Center”:

1. The completed Chinese and English application forms (please contact the IEMBA Co-ordination Centre for application form);
2. Two recommendation letters (one of the recommenders should be the Chief Executive of your organization, and the other should have senior academic or professional title);
3. A sponsoring organization recommendation letter;
4. Two copies of all degree certificates or diplomas of higher education;
5. Two business cards and two passport photos and
6. Acknowledgement cards.

Short-listed applicants will be asked to attend an interview before they can be admitted to the program. The admissions committee will assess the suitability of each applicant and make final decision on admission.

Early application is advisable, since enrollment is limited and qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come-first-served and suitability basis.

Application Procedures of EMBA at School of Business and Management (HKUST)

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)

An application packet is included with this brochure. In order to apply for entry into the EMBA program, the following documents should be submitted:
The completed application form;

Two letters of recommendation;

A letter of sponsorship from the appropriate officer in the applicant’s organization which describes the organization’s understanding of its commitment to financial support and time requirements (a sample letter is enclosed);

(i) Original copy of official transcripts with grades from all
universities attended, and/or
(ii) Original copy of official proof for professional qualifications;

Application fee of HK$1,500 or US$200 (a check payable to “HKUST”); and

Results of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) for applicants who were educated at institutions where the primary language of instruction was not English and whose native language is not English;

One business card.

An interview on the campus of HKUST is required for admission to the program.

Application Qualification

College degree or above;

8 or over 8 years’ working experience, and 5 or more than 5 years’ experience in management position.

According to the current announcement from Academic Degree Committee of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, the EMBA program of SJTU can enroll less than 30 excellent senior managers or entrepreneurs who have college degree in each year.

Application Procedures

The applicant can come to the EMBA office of Antai Management School for the “Shanghai Jiao Tong University EMBA Pre-application Form” or fill out the application information online.

After the preliminary examination of the qualifications, we will inform the qualified applicants who shall fill out the official Application Form. The applicant is required to submit all the application materials and application fee. The examination notice will be sent to eligible applicants after the qualification evaluation.

Take part in the EMBA matriculation exam which includes written exam (comprehensive quality test) and interview.

Decision for successful application will be based on the scores of the written and oral exam, while the learning ability, career achievements, leadership skills, and individual potential will also be taken into consideration.

Application Fee

800 RMB for applicants.

Tuition

The tuition fee includes all the expenses of classroom teaching, textbooks, materials, translation, use of school resources (library, computer center, etc), thesis presentation, and coffee breaks. The accommodation and transportation and the overseas field trip study are not included.

Interview For MBA at Antai College of Economics & Management

For Degree Applicants:

The School of International Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, will review the application materials. Antai College of Economics & Management, SJTU will organize the interview for the qualified degree applicants.

Admissions Requirements

All candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or above
A full-time work experience of two years or longer
A GMAT score or CEIBS Admission Test score(GRE will be accepted as alternatives. Please contact MBA Admissions Office for more information)

Application

CEIBS only accepts the application form submitted online. An applicant should complete the application form and submit it to CEIBS via the Internet. The supporting documents, such as recommendation letters, photocopy of certificate(s), official university transcript(s), should be delivered by registered post or express mail to the MBA dmissions Office.

Selection Criteria

The Admissions Committee will take a holistic review of the applicant’s academic record; response to essay questions; work experience; recommendation letters; test scores (such as GMAT, GRE, CEIBS Admissions Test); and the interview performance in order to comprehensively assess each applicant’s overall suitability for the MBA study at CEIBS.

Deferral Policy

Applicants who have been offered a place in the CEIBS MBA Programme and who need to defer their study due to circumstances beyond their control may do so by submitting a written request to MBA Admissions Office. Your request will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and the decision will be sent by email and followed by an official letter. You are required to pay appropriate deposit to secure your seat in the programme. Your seat will be re-offered during the admission cycle in the next academic year. The offer of scholarship will not be automatically granted for deferred applicants.

If you choose to withdraw after deferring, CEIBS reserves the right to retain your deposit.

Please note that the School policy is to grant no more than one deferral.

Re-application

If you have submitted an application to CEIBS and were not successful, we encourage you to reapply for the next academic year. Approximately 10 percent of CEIBS’ applicant pool is re-applicants in any given year.
