Learning Outcomes : At the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. Identify the e-commerce concepts and theories
2. Discuss the impacts of e-commerce on consumer decisions to buy
products on the Internet, as well as the impacts on organisations
industries.
3. Describe various e-commerce applications available to business
organisation
4. Analyse how Internet can assist organisation to successfully establish
competitive advantage, brand recognition and differentiation.
5. Develop and publish a website on the Internet, using the Microsoft
Office application (i.e. Microsoft Front page)
Synopsis of Course Contents : This course introduces students to the concept of e-commerce in digital
economy. This course also highlights e-commerce applications, for
example, e-retailing, online advertising, e-auction, e-supply chain, epayment,
and e-learning, etc. Current issues pertaining to e-commerce
such as, usage of cookies in e-commerce application, taxation issues,
intellectual property issues, and etc will be addressed. Students will be
taught to develop and publish a website on the Internet.

Final Examination : 50%

Admissions Requirements

All candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or above
A full-time work experience of two years or longer
A GMAT score or CEIBS Admission Test score(GRE will be accepted as alternatives. Please contact MBA Admissions Office for more information)

Application

CEIBS only accepts the application form submitted online. An applicant should complete the application form and submit it to CEIBS via the Internet. The supporting documents, such as recommendation letters, photocopy of certificate(s), official university transcript(s), should be delivered by registered post or express mail to the MBA dmissions Office.

Selection Criteria

The Admissions Committee will take a holistic review of the applicant’s academic record; response to essay questions; work experience; recommendation letters; test scores (such as GMAT, GRE, CEIBS Admissions Test); and the interview performance in order to comprehensively assess each applicant’s overall suitability for the MBA study at CEIBS.

The Admission Decision will be released by the date specified in each round through both email and post. The decisions that are released are:

Admission to the CEIBS MBA programme
Conditional Admission
Waiting List
Denied Admission

Deferral Policy

Applicants who have been offered a place in the CEIBS MBA Programme and who need to defer their study due to circumstances beyond their control may do so by submitting a written request to MBA Admissions Office. Your request will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and the decision will be sent by email and followed by an official letter. You are required to pay appropriate deposit to secure your seat in the programme. Your seat will be re-offered during the admission cycle in the next academic year. The offer of scholarship will not be automatically granted for deferred applicants.

If you choose to withdraw after deferring, CEIBS reserves the right to retain your deposit.

Please note that the School policy is to grant no more than one deferral.

Re-application

If you have submitted an application to CEIBS and were not successful, we encourage you to reapply for the next academic year. Approximately 10 percent of CEIBS’ applicant pool is re-applicants in any given year.
