Application
A master’s degree holder who has excelled in the entrance examination can be accepted by Guanghua’s four- year program. A bachelor’s degree holder who has excelled in the entrance examination can be accepted by Guanghua’s five-year program. Only students who have excelled in the entrance examination are eligible for the second round exam. The second round examination may be an interview, a written test, or a combination of the two. The students who excel in both the entrance examination and the second round exam can be accepted by Guanghua’s Ph.D. program. A master’s degree holder who is qualified for exemption from the entrance examination can also be recommended for Guanghua’s Ph.D. program.

Entrance requirements:

a) A Master’s degree with at least 1 to 2 years of work experience.

b) Good undergraduate and graduate school grades, strong references, and some research experience, with a clear interest in pursuing a scholarly career at a research oriented university.

c) A GMAT test score of 680 or higher, or a GRE test score of 1300 minimum for verbal and quantitative sections combined and a minimum of 4 for analytical writing. Scores lower than these requirements may be considered on a competitive basis.

d) Applicants who undertook their studies in a language other than English are required to demonstrate English language proficiency by providing TOEFL scores of no less than 600.

Entry requirements:
A bachelor’s or higher degree (a junior college degree is acceptable for candidates with outstanding achievements in their field);
No less than 8 years’ working experience (at least 5 years at mid-level or senior management);
Age 30-48;
Mid-level or senior executives of state-owned enterprises or foreign companies or senior executives of private corporations.

Entrance Examination: Written examination (Literature, Analysis, Mathematics) in January, June, and August respectively; 30-minute interview (the board consists of professors, business leader and EMBA alumni) in January, July, and September respectively.

EDP Program

Executive Development Programs (EDP), as the non-degree training and education provider in Guanghua School of Management, plays an important role in the lifelong learning plan and provides opportunity by contributing everlasting innovative knowledge and ideas for participants who possess some years of working experience and seek broad exposure to the functional areas of management beyond their own areas of expertise.

Combined with the classic western management theory, EDP designs and implements training and education programs with Chinese characteristics. Instead of simply introducing management theory, the programs always focus on case discussion on the basis of China’s status. EDP offers open-enrollment program and custom program not only help to solve management problems effectively, but also promote the localization of global companies, and modernization of Chinese private enterprises.

MPAcc Program
The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) program highlights professional requirements and attaches great importance to the combination of academic learning and occupational practice in terms of student recruitment, educational content, and quality standards.

Peking University is among the first universities to recruit students for the Master of Professional Accounting degree. This program was approved by the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council on December 2003 to cultivate high-quality and applied accounting talent. The Accounting specialty of Guanghua School of Management occupies the leading position in its field domestically. Its theoretical research ranks at the top and has exerted great influence over China’s accounting practice. It is committed to train high-quality financial experts and creative management talent with professional ethics and an acute awareness of laws and regulations.

EMBA Program

Taught against the backdrop of the Chinese and Asian business worlds, the objective of the Executive MBA (EMBA) Program is to provide systematic and rigorous training in the best management practices pursued by the world¡¯s leading organizations. The program is offered both in a standard format and as a tailor-made course. Comparing to the full-time programs, it has less quantitative analysis, and the applicants are required to have a track record of at least ten years work experiences including five years of management experience in addition to standard entrance exams. The Executive MBA Program is modular with a monthly four-day seminar and a total of 20 months are needed to complete the program.

MBA Program

Guanghua’s MBA Program is designed for candidates with outstanding potential for leadership in China’s emerging private sector and large SOEs, as well as multinational companies. Students integrate knowledge learned from outstanding professors in the classroom with their experience gained as interns with top selected companies. In this challenging and stimulating environment, our students expand their capabilities and equip themselves to serve the business world in rewarding careers.

Guanghua’s Doctoral Program is to educate future academic leaders in areas of applied economics and management. Currently there are two Ph.D. programs: a five-year program for those without a regular Master’s degree at the time of entrance and a four-year program for those who have already obtained a Master’s degree from a good university. The graduates of the program should achieve the level of advanced knowledge in their chosen specialty necessary to carry out original academic research, along with sufficient knowledge of other disciplines to facilitate inter-disciplinary insight; to demonstrate this research ability by producing a high-quality dissertation and academic papers; to be critical thinkers; to have well-developed ethical reasoning skills; to have a good understanding of the international business environment; and to have good preparation for a career as an effective teacher.
