Completion Requirements and Degrees For PhD at University of Tsukuba

(1) Standard course term

The standard course term is three years, but the shortest period to complete the course is one year.
(2) Credits

Twenty or more credits need to be taken.
(3) Degree

Students who have completed the course are awarded a doctorate in bisiness administration or systems management.
(4) Time of completion

An application packet is included with this brochure. In order to apply for entry into the EMBA program, the following documents should be submitted:
The completed application form;

Two letters of recommendation;

A letter of sponsorship from the appropriate officer in the applicant’s organization which describes the organization’s understanding of its commitment to financial support and time requirements (a sample letter is enclosed);

(i) Original copy of official transcripts with grades from all
universities attended, and/or
(ii) Original copy of official proof for professional qualifications;

Application fee of HK$1,500 or US$200 (a check payable to “HKUST”); and

Results of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) for applicants who were educated at institutions where the primary language of instruction was not English and whose native language is not English;

One business card.

An interview on the campus of HKUST is required for admission to the program.

Early application is advisable, since enrollment is limited and qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come first served basis.

The task of International Exchange Dep (IED) is in charge of inviting foreign teachers and arrange their courses. Since 2002 which year EMBA program was established , having gained great achievement, IED invited quite a few foreign and overseas professors ,experts and scholars to give lectures to EMBA stuents gradually.

In addition, IED’s another work is to arrange all the students to visit abroad as well. Up to now , EMBA center of Business School of Nankai University has already organized students to visit USA, Canada, Korea, Europe, Austrilia,some other countries and areas. Furthermore, some global famous enterprises such as Volkswagen CocaCola, Mobil, as well as some well-known international reputation Universities, have been visited by EMBA students already.
