Bachelor of Business Administration (Law) [BBA(Law)] {in conjunction with LLB}

Offered in collaboration with the Department of Law, BBA(Law)/LLB is a five-year*, double-degree programme designed for students who are interested in the dynamic worlds of business administration and the legal profession. The programme provides an extensive education, which gives students a great deal of flexibility in their career choices.

After completing the first three years of study successfully, students will receive the BBA(Law) degree. The remaining two optional years of study enables them to obtain the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, which is the basic requirement needed to pursue a career in law. Graduates who have obtained the LLB degree can be eligible for admission to courses leading to the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) provided that they have fulfilled relevant admission requirements.

*Subject to the University approval, BBA(Law)/LLB will become a five-year programme from 2004-05 onwards. The fourth and fifth years of this double-degree programme will operate on a self-financing basis, and the fees are therefore slightly higher than the usual undergraduate fees. Those requiring financial assistance can apply for non-means tested loans, repayable at an interest rate to be determined by the Government. There are no additional requirements for admission to the fourth year other than having satisfactorily completed the BBA(Law).

School of Management at Shenzhen University

The School of Management of Shenzhen University was established in June 1997, consisting of the Department of Management, the Department of Public Administration and the Department of Soft-science£¬and now it has expaned to 5 departments. They are Dept. of Business Management, Dept. of Human Resource Management, Dept of Information and System Management, Dept of Public Administration and Dept of Marketing.

The school has 83 faculty members, among whom, 17 are professors and 42 are associate professors. Presently, the school has 190 postgraduate students, 2631 full-time undergraduates, 125 international cooperation students and over 4000 part-time students.

The school is honored with one Guangdong provincial level key discipline¡ªPublic Administration, one branded major of Guangdong¡ªBusiness Administration, one provincial institute for humanity and social science¡ªThe Institute for contemporary Chinese politics and the first pilot approved by the Degree Committee of China’s State Council among local institutions¡ªthe MBA program. The goal of the school is trying to meet the needs of social development in the 21st century and efforts are being made to become one of China¡¯s top schools of management in both teaching and academic research.

SOB trains full-time postgraduates under the master degree program in business management and accounting. The programs offer seven concentrations—international business management, international marketing, foreign trade quantitative analysis, manufacturing and service system management, international accounting, cost and management accounting, and financial management.
Applicants for the master’s program must have a bachelor’s degree. There is no requirement for their undergraduate major. Given the international orientation of SOB’s graduates, students are highly recommended to have a good mastery of English and quantitative analysis skills. SOB will provide students with a solid theoretical foundation, advanced techniques and analytical capabilities by means of flexible and diversified training. SOB will also improve their communicating skills and leadership quality, in order to make them professionally competent.
