Advanced Seminar I, II and III (E-Business Thesis Work)
The E-Biz program at IUJ gives lots of flexibility to the students in completing their thesis work, which is a requirement for graduation in the E-Biz program. Once students get familiar with the program, they will be asked to elect a thesis supervisor. Selecting the thesis topic is one of the most important things in the thesis project. It is expected that students will keep their career objectives in mind when electing a thesis topic, and supervising professor. Though students normally elect professors of E-Biz program as their supervisors, depending upon the career objective, technically they can elect any professor in GSIM as a supervisor.
Thesis work extending over the three terms, including summer time, allows students to do a project that would use their learning at E-Biz and get close cooperation from the supervising professor. A thesis project can produce, for example, a new business plan, a new business idea, a completely new technology, a strategic plan involving technologies, or a comprehensive industry analysis, or competitive strategy. The facilities available to the students, including unlimited access to E-Lab, and the close association with professors at both EBM and MBA program, including the industry experts, give a unique opportunity to produce a truly remarkable piece of work that would help in securing a very successful career after graduation. The three term thesis work accounts for 6 credit hours.

Adding Value Through Internet, Mobile, Communications, and Ubiquitous Connectivity - Degree in One-year
Let us be realisitic. The global business environment has been changing dramatically over the last few years. The impact has led to a complete transformation of business itself, literally any kind of business, and the kind of careers it demands.
E-Business, earlier thought of as just buying and selling using the Internet, has become an undeniable reality with applications for all kinds of businesses from banking to human resource optimization, from manufacturing to sales, from medical fields to logistic management, and from transforming education to creating new forms of government administration. A bank CEO today, for example, can monitor his bank’s performance, literally in real time by implementing technologies based on E-Business. A strategically thinking manager then can use the same infrastructure, or enhance it with compatible technology innovations, to provide a host of services to customers that the bank’s competitors never thought of, thus creating completely new revenue streams for the bank.
While the potential of E-Business is literally unlimited, the success of any E-Business initiative depends on strategies and its integration and alignment with the overall business objectives. In our program, “E-Business” means all kinds of IT technologies, along with Internet, Mobile, and other Ubiquitous connectivity innovations, that can be used to create business value.
This warrants the need for professionally trained managers in E-Business, who understand traditional business processes, the convergence of Technology and Business, the new innovations in tecnology, and who can help the new and existing businesses to seamlessly integrate E-Business and technology initiatives to create value. This ability to create value is what we teach in this program!
After carefully studying current business needs, we have added more practical relevance by linking our curriculum with the “IUJ Platforms” which literally tie what we teach in the program with the most advanced technologies from our partner companies. Notable among them is the world’s most advanced Mobile technology from Japan’s IT giants. With a uniquely designed one-year program, well-experienced faculty, an especially designed hi-tech “E-Lab”, coupled with MBA offerings from our top-rated business school, we are best positioned to offer the technology management and E-Business training to you than any school in Japan or in the Asia Pacific region.

IUJ’s MBA Program has established reciprocal exchange partnerships with 40 respected institutions in Asia, Europe, and North America. It is worthwhile for students to experience other programs which are designed to attain similar educational goals, but in a different way and in a different environment.
Each partner institution offers one to three exchange slots per year. Placement is done on a competitive basis, although some preference is given to Japanese students so that they can experience an overseas educational program like their foreign classmates do at IUJ. Students go on exchange in either the Fall or Winter term of their second year.
Students of the Master of E-Business Management program may be able to participate in the exchange program in the Fall term after completion of their one-year program in August. However, priority is given to MBA students in the placement process.
All participating students are required to pay all exchange-related expenses (airfare, accommodation, food, etc.) other than tuition of the host institution. Tuition for the term during which students study abroad must be paid to IUJ, not to the host institution.
Not all exchange partners accept IUJ students every year.
