Service Marketing (EKM 3110)

This course examines the differences between the marketing concept for services and tangible goods. It explains the relevant three main models for the service marketing activities; service triangle, service marketing mix and gaps model from the service quality. With special reference to these models, students are expected to analytically investigate challenges faced by service firms and hence to be able to develop services marketing strategies and tactics for gaining competitive advantage. The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of decision-making processes performed by marketing managers in service firms. Students are expected to acquire basic knowledge to assist decision making related to: managing consumers’ expectations and perceptions; efforts of building consumer relationship and service recovery; efforts of collaborating strategies with design and service standards; efforts of developing service performance, service promises, and minimizing service gaps.

Public Sector Accounting (EKA 3502)

This course provides an introduction and framework of reference to comprehend and apply the concept of management accounting, financial management, budgetary, funds, and expenditure control systems in public: sector organizations. Among the topics covered are characteristics and definition of public sector accounting; planning, programming, and budgeting system; zero-base budgeting; financial accounting theory; public sector accounting performance measurement; and capital accounting. This course aims to develop students ability to analyze current issues and to identify and apply appropriate solutions.

Interview
We conduct personal interviews with short-listed applicants residing in Hong Kong and in Asia where possible. Otherwise a phone interview will be arranged. Motivation, interpersonal and communication skills, career plans and maturity will be assessed during the interview.

Admissions Decision
Evaluation is based on the information provided in the application and interview performance. Admission decisions are not formula-driven but depend on an applicant’s overall profile. Successful applicants will receive an admissions offer within one month of the interview.

Accepting an Offer
Successful candidates are required to return a signed acceptance form together with a non-refundable deposit of HKD50,000 before the stated deadline.
