The Shenzhen Part-time MBA program operates Saturday classes in IER Building, Hi-Tech Industrial Park South, Shenzhen. (”Contact Us” for details of the address). A typical class day starts at 9:30am and ends at around 6:15pm.

First Step
Residential Program
The first required core course, Managerial Problem Solving, is a five-day residential program held in mid August in Hong Kong that includes class work and an Experiential Learning Program (ELP). Case study training and group activities aim to build up cohesiveness.

There are seven doctoral programs in RBS——enterprise management, industrial economics, accounting, technological economics and management, financial management, marketing management, and logistics economics.

Industrial economics
This field of specialization is an applied economics studying industrial organizations, industrial structure, theory of industrial relationship, and the economic activities and rules in industry, and industrial analysis and policy making to serve the demand of macroeconomic policy making and corporate development strategy. With the emergence of economic globalization and the approach of technological splendor, the research area of industrial economics is extended.
Core courses: advanced topics in industrial economics, models and applications of international trade

Logistics economics
This field of specialization is an applied economics studying industrial organizations in logistics, logistics industrial structure, theory of logistics industrial affiliation, and the economic activities and rules in logistics industry.
Key fields of study: theory of logistics economics, theory of logistics organization, industrial policy of logistics, modern theory and management of logistics, modern wholesale theory and management, modern retail theory and management, business ethics and market system, integration of domestic and international trade, commodity futures, commodity science, commodity inspection and quarantine, market management and regulations, statistical control of logistics, etc.
The Ph.D. students taking this major must possess a foundation of theory and profound systematic special knowledge in the field of applied economics, fit for teaching and research work in colleges and scientific research institutions, competent for macro-management work in governmental departments and strategic research and top management work in medium-sized and large-sized enterprises.

Accounting
This field of specialization is a key national academic discipline. Research areas include accounting theory, advanced accounting, auditing, cost management accounting, computerized accounting, etc. With a solid foundation of knowledge, insights, and abilities of problem solving, the graduates taking this major are expected to develop into top management executives and theoretical research experts.
Core courses: theory and methods of accounting, theory and methods of finance, advanced management accounting, advanced financial accounting, theory of auditing, accounting information system, etc.

Enterprise management
This field of specialization is a key national academic subject. With fifty years’ history, it is the founder and pioneer in enterprise management education in new China. In the fifty years, the enterprise management science of RUC has always been one of the leading academic research subjects in the theory and practice of enterprise management development and innovation, studying important theoretical and realistic problems appeared in the development of enterprises. Research areas are management theory, strategic management, marketing management, organizational behavior, human resources management, management science, management information system, financial management, transnational management, etc.
Core courses: economic theory, research methodology, modern management theory, marketing management, management accounting, corporate financial management, organizational behavior, corporate strategic management, organizational theory and design, management statistics, theory of industrial organization, production operation management, human resources management, management information system, transnational management, etc.

Technological economics and management
The academic subject of technological economics and management is the integration of modern technological development and management level with social economic development. It is the science of studying economic problems in the technological field, the relationship of technological progress to economic growth, and project management. Research subjects can be divided into two categories: Firstly, it is the science of studying project assessment and the theory and methods of project management; Secondly, it is the science of studying the relationship of technology to economy and the theory and methods of promoting technological progress and accelerating economic growth by means of technological innovation.
Core courses: socialist economic theory, principles of management, marketing management, management accounting, corporate financial management, organizational behavior, corporate strategic management, etc.

Marketing management
It is the management academic subject studying corporate marketing activities and non-profit organizational marketing and their rules. With a solid foundation of knowledge and theory in marketing management and the abilities of problem solving, the graduates taking this major are expected to develop into top management executives and theoretical research experts to meet the need of socialist market economy. Graduates will apply their skills of decision-making, marketing management, theoretical research, and teaching to comprehensive management departments, enterprises, scientific research institutes, and colleges.
Core courses: distribution management, history of marketing ideology, marketing models, case study on marketing, marketing communication, advanced topics in marketing management theory, and directed readings on marketing management masterpieces

Financial management
The aspects and contents of research include theory and practice of corporate finance; theory and practice of security investment; mergers, acquisitions and restructuring; financial market and financial instruments, financial analysis, security assessment, risk management, transnational financial management, etc.
The Ph.D. candidates taking this major must have strong sensitivity to market economy and management ability, possess a wide range of knowledge in management and economics, fit for academic research work in colleges and scientific research institutions, and become top financial management personnel competent for work in the fields of financial management, consulting service and other related economic management work in industrial and commercial enterprises, financial organizations, governmental departments and public service units, and agency institutions.

MBA Training Method School of Business at Renmin University of China

Renmin University of China recruits MBA students in each autumn and spring based on standards of RUC (in principle, we only recruit qualified applicants who take the RUC as their first choice). We recruit 120 students in spring and 350 in autumn (including teaching branches in other cities).

1. Based on the strong teaching and research faculty of RBS
As one of main bases of MBA education in China, RBS has strong teaching and research strength, a library with enormous books and complete specialized materials, advanced computer lab, multimedia network classrooms, a CAD lab, compact disc information searching center, and a video room.

2. Unique premium MBA curriculum
The MBA education at RBS is the embodiment of the research on management theory and corporate practice over half a century. It has drawn the quintessence from the contemporary European and American MBA education, which helped form an extractive curriculum with its own characteristics. Our MBA program is featured by “paying equal attention to both advanced topics and systematic courses, distinguished professors coupled with entrepreneurs, advanced western theory integrated with domestic experience, simulated training with interactive case discussion”. RBS faculty have collectively compiled 15 case study books, and published scores of MBA premium teaching materials in English through the China Machinery Press to meet requirements of MBA case study education. It has also intensified the assessment for teachers and has promptly informed them of feedback from students.

4. Flexible BB On-Line Learning System
As the pioneer in developing on-line education management system in China, RBS has an internationally advanced Blackboard Learning System (BB). With its powerful functions such as on-line course registration, scoring, classroom discussion, learning material distribution, question answering by teachers, teaching affairs management, the BB system has provided a powerful on-line platform for interactions between teachers and students, and between students; and has substantially enhanced the teaching management efficiency.

5. The colorful secondary classroom
RBS has invited senior visiting scholars, the American Fulbright and other foreign teachers to participate in the MBA classroom teaching, and has invited managers of foreign transnational corporations in China and domestic enterprise managers and scholars to give lectures.

6. International exchange activities
RBS regularly send outstanding MBA students on exchange visits to schools in the U.S. A. and Europe. Since 2000, we have signed graduate exchange and study agreements with The University of Texas, San Antonio (the U.S.), the School of Business (EUROMED MARSEILLE Ecole De Management, France), and the School of Business (Aarhus School of Business, Danmark), and have regularly sent MBA students on exchange visits to the above-mentioned schools.
