Admission Detail Part Time MBA at School of Business and Management (HKUST)

We invite applications from October onwards for our annual intake which starts in the following August. The capacity for a typical Shenzhen part-time MBA intake is 60.

Making an Application
Application can be completed through our online application form. Simply register as a user and you could take as much time as you need to complete the application before the deadline.

Your application should include:1.

2. Two reference forms or equivalent reference letters: one from your supervisor, the other from a professor of your UG university
3. Diploma Certificate

We accept xerox or fax copies of (3) to (7) at the application stage.

Application Fee
The application fee is HK$500 (US$ 64) and can be paid by:1. Credit card as indicated on the online application form; or
2. Cash deposit to HKUST Hang Seng Bank account number 024 262 324999 014; or
3. Bank draft made payable to “The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology”

Interview
We conduct personal interviews with short-listed applicants. Motivation, interpersonal and communication skills, career plans and maturity will be assessed during the interview.

Admissions Decision
Evaluation is based on the information provided in the application and interview performance. Admission decisions are not formula-driven but depend on an applicant’s overall profile. Successful applicants will receive an admissions offer within one month of the interview.

Accepting an Offer
Successful candidates are required to return a signed acceptance together with a non-refundable deposit of HKD 20,000 before the stated deadline.

The School of Management of Shenzhen University was established in June 1997, consisting of the Department of Management, the Department of Public Administration and the Department of Soft-science£¬and now it has expaned to 5 departments. They are Dept. of Business Management, Dept. of Human Resource Management, Dept of Information and System Management, Dept of Public Administration and Dept of Marketing.

The school has 83 faculty members, among whom, 17 are professors and 42 are associate professors. Presently, the school has 190 postgraduate students, 2631 full-time undergraduates, 125 international cooperation students and over 4000 part-time students.

The school is honored with one Guangdong provincial level key discipline¡ªPublic Administration, one branded major of Guangdong¡ªBusiness Administration, one provincial institute for humanity and social science¡ªThe Institute for contemporary Chinese politics and the first pilot approved by the Degree Committee of China’s State Council among local institutions¡ªthe MBA program. Curriculum Structure

The CEIBS EMBA programme is a two-year programme offered on a part-time basis. Students meet once a month, from Friday to the following Monday. The programme curriculum offers 15 compulsory courses, 4 elective courses to choose from a wide pool of over 20 courses in different areas, and one group project. Core courses are taken mostly in the first year, with the second year devoted mainly to advanced elective courses and group research project.

The total in-class hour required for the degree is 664 while the average contact hour of 77 EMBA programmes in the United States is 546 hours (including all required and elective class hours).

Programme Schedule

The two-year programme begins in late March of the entering year.
Students meet once a month, for four consecutive days from Friday morning to the following Monday afternoon.
A one-week overseas module is required in July of the entering year. Another one-week module abroad is optional.
Students graduate with their counterparts in the Chinese programme from Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen in September two years later.
